Announcement of the Award of the Joint Meritorious Unit Award (JMUA) TO HQ EUCOM Per Joint Staff

Permanent Order Number J-ISO-0006-15, dated Jan. 14, 2015, under the provisions of DoD Manual 1348.33-V1, Nov. 23, 2010, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff has awarded the Joint Meritorious Unit Award for exceptional meritorious service to HQ EUCOM to include the following subordinate activities: JAC, RAF Molesworth; Supreme HQ Allied Powers Europe, Survey Section, Mons Belgium; Special Activities Supreme Allied Commander Division, Mon Belgium; and Special Operation Command Europe, Stuttgart, during the period of 1 September 2011 to 12 September 2014. Service units and individuals assigned to Service units in support of these organizations are not eligible for this award.

IMAs who were present at the time and directly participated in the service or achievement for 30 days or more shall be authorized to wear the JMUA ribbon. Members must be permanently assigned or attached by official orders.

Colonel Meghann Allison is the Commander, Readiness and Integration Orientation-Detachment Eight, Patch Barracks, Stuttgart. In this role, she is responsible to present 316 war-time ready Individual Reserve members to U.S. European Command, U.S. Africa Command, U.S. Air Forces Europe-Africa and North Atlantic Treaty Organization.

Colonel Allison is a Logistics Readiness Officer with over nineteen years of experience as an organizational leader, logistics management and plans specialist and joint qualified officer. She commissioned through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps, Detachment 158, University of South Florida, in 2003. Her assignments include squadron, group, major command and combatant command leadership roles in both the regular Air Force and the Air Force Reserve components. In 2009, she deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan in support of Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.

Recently, she served as the Future Operations Branch Chief, Logistics Directorate, U.S. Africa Command. In this position, she led the Command's participation in the Africa Distribution Network Forum, working with partners and allies to leverage transportation resources in support of shared objectives across the African continent. She also served as a lead planner for multiple Named Operations and Crisis Response activities.

Colonel Allison’s command experience includes leading 75 Airmen across 5 flights, as commander of the 908th Logistics Readiness Squadron, Maxwell Air Force Base Alabama. In this position, she was responsible for the training and readiness of 5 functional disciplines, including material management and distribution processes, base and expeditionary logistics plans, vehicle operations and maintenance, and fuel support for both ground and flying activities.

Colonel Allison’s civilian experience includes serving as the Chief of Logistics for U.S. Air Forces Europe- United Kingdom, where she oversaw Common User Logistics programs for UK-based U.S. Forces.

Prior to her current position, Colonel Allison attended the Eisenhower School, National Defense University, Ft. McNair, Washington D.C., where she studied National Resource Strategy with a concentration in NATO-Trans-Atlantic Security Cooperation and an Industry Study in Logistics and Transportation.
