HQ RIO to host Virtual IR Orientation on Nov 5-6

HQ RIO’s bi-monthly Virtual Individual Reservist Orientation (vIRO) replaces Detachment newcomer briefings to streamline onboarding for Individual Reservists (IRs). The next session will be held 5-6 November, from 08:00 to 16:00 MT daily, offering a two-day orientation designed to equip IRs and their support teams with essential knowledge and resources.

What’s Covered
Over the course of three days, attendees will receive in-depth guidance on navigating the IR program, including:

  1. HQ RIO structure, roles, and responsibilities
  2. Pay, travel, orders, and UTAPS
  3. Points, participation, and readiness
  4. Assignments, Medical and deployments
  5. Career development, mentorship, and training resources
  6. Enlisted promotions, Officer Promotions, Tuition Assistance, and more
Sessions are led by HQ RIO and ARPC experts, with opportunities to hear directly from leadership and connect with peers across the IR community.

Who Should Attend
HQ RIO strongly encourages all IRs, regardless of experience level, to attend. Active-duty supervisorsUnit Reserve Coordinators, and Reserve Advisors are also welcome. This is a valuable opportunity to build awareness, foster collaboration, and stay informed on key program updates.
