ACTION REQUIRED: Master Leave Record Carryover Election (60-Day Window)
IRs,
Air Force leave policy requires members to identify whether leave on their Master Leave Record will be carried forward to a future order. IRs have 60 days to notify HQ RIO of their intent; if no carryover election is received, the AFI directs the leave be automatically sold back.
Going forward, you will have 60 days to make an election after coming off an order.
What you need to do
- For those with leave currently sitting on their master leave record, submit a myFSS ticket to HQ RIO via the myIMA page within 60 days.
- In the ticket title, type: “Carry Over - XXXXXXX” with the “X’s” representing order number
- This lets us identify that you intend to carry your accrued leave forward and are anticipating a future order to carry the leave onto.
Additional Information:
- Submitting a “Carry Over” myFSS ticket is the election mechanism we will use to document your intent and track your request.
- If you do not intend to carry over leave, no action is required.
- If you are unsure whether you should elect carry over, submit the ticket anyway to preserve your option within the 60-day window; we can resolve details during processing.
- The RPO will begin processing the automatic leave sell back early this summer.
