USS Iowa (SSN 797) Commissioning

The Navy will commission USS Iowa (SSN 797) on April 5, 2025. SSN 797 is the 5th Navy ship to be named Iowa; it is the first submarine named after the state.

The submarine’s sponsor is Christie Vilsack, who will call the order for the crew to bring the ship to life.
