Key, Command and Joint (KCJ) officer positions
This is for career field managers (CFMs) annually reviewing their career field key, command and joint duty list to determine “key” positions within their career field. This provides the experiences necessary to develop Reserve Citizen Airmen and equip them with the right capabilities to potentially become Total Force senior leaders. Eligible candidates for key/command/joint positions include individuals listed on Reserve development team Key Personnel Lists (KPL) and Reserve Command Screening Board (RCSB).
Key and Strategic enlisted positions
These are reserve assignments that equip commanders with Ready Airman. The division is separated into two branches; the Reserve Assignments Branch (DPAAA) and AGR Assignments Management Branch (DPAAG). DPAA is responsible for executing 9.3K annual assignment actions in support of 6.1K Active Guard Reserve (AGR) and 7.2K Individual Mobilization Augmentee (IMA) personnel. They provide regulatory guidance to CCs/CFMs/FSSs/Dets for advertising vacancies and job placement.
Eligible candidates for key/strategic positions include individuals listed on the Reserve development team KPL and carry a 3-year term limit. Vacancies and application process can be found in RMVS.
