RIO Buzz Vol. 12
There are quite a few things going on in the middle of this unprecedented summer. Here is the news you can use … the Buzz:
TEN DAYS LEFT TO TAKE THE HQ RIO SURVEY
If you haven’t yet made your voice heard, please take our survey called “Making it Easier to Serve.” You can access the survey at this link:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HQRIOEastToServeBuzz
On average, it takes ten minutes to fill out the survey. The feedback you provide is vital to our efforts at HQ RIO, so please take a few moments to complete it. The survey is anonymous and it functions on a smartphone, personal computer and government computer (using Edge or Chrome.) It will remain open for responses through 13 August.
VIRTUAL TRAINING THIS FRIDAY: EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT RESERVE PAY
Our next virtual training session will cover all things related to Reserve Pay and will be held at 1200 EDT/1000 MDT on Friday, 7 August. This session will be recorded and accessible at the same link used to attend the live session. You do not need a login or account, and the system works best on a personal computer, smartphone or government computer NOT connected to VPN.

There is a moderated Q&A chat function where you can ask questions and get answers live at the end of the briefing.
Don’t forget that Chief Wilfong and I will be hosting a virtual IR All Call on 28 August at 1200 EDT/1000 MDT. Mark your calendar!
ARTICLE 137 BRIEFING FOR REENLISTMENTS IS NOW ON ADLS
If you need to reenlist, one of the required steps is an Article 137 briefing. That briefing is now available on ADLS, which will aid social distancing and be a huge help to those not near a base.
QUICK INFO ON KEY/COMMAND/JDAL POSITIONS
The K/C/J Management Branch at ARPC assists in the deliberate management of K/C/J positions. They assist our highest performing officers and in-residence developmental education (DE) students find K/C/J billets for their next assignment. At present, the KCJ Management office is managing O-5 IMA Key and Joint positions for HQ RIO. Since the IMA program doesn’t have any commander billets, they do not manage commander positions for us. The O-5 Key and Joint positions are advertised in RMVS for 30 days and upon close-out are processed through the KCJ Office.
Each HQ RIO Detachment has been trained on the K/J management process with emphasis on the application process. If you have questions regarding K/J positions or processes, please reach out to your HQ RIO Detachment or contact the org box: ARPC.KCJ.Management@us.af.mil.
NEW QUICK GUIDES!
I’m excited that there are two new Quick Guides available for you. The first is accessing and reading your Points Credit Summary (PCARS) and the second gives you instructions on getting your Career Data Brief. All our Quick Guides can be found at https://www.arpc.afrc.af.mil/HQ-RIO/IRGuide/.
That’s the buzz for now. Thanks for ALL you do!
v/r,
Col Amy Boehle, HQ RIO Commander
