RIO Buzz Vol. 18
The holiday season is here and the RIO leadership team wishes you and your family a very happy Thanksgiving.
Here’s the latest Buzz:
THREE WEEKS LEFT TO GET YOUR FLU SHOT BEFORE GOING RED ON YOUR IMR!
On 15 Dec, you will go “red” on your IMR if you don’t get your flu shot and have your records updated. This is the easiest medical readiness item to knock out. You can go to an MTF, your civilian doctor or pharmacy and submit the paperwork to our medical team to update your records. If your insurance won’t cover the shot, you can send a note to our medical team to assist you via the Reserve Health Readiness Program. All the information you need about how to get the shot, where to submit the paperwork, and options for those with access issues is on our new IMR At-A-Glance guide (see below).
A QUICK REFERENCE FOR MEDICAL READINESS
Your medical readiness is important for a variety of reasons, but it’s also a mandatory requirement for your continued participation. To assist you with information about PHA, dental, shots, and labs, we’ve published the IMR At-A-Glance guide. (https://www.arpc.afrc.af.mil/Portals/4/DRIO/IR%20Guide-Quick%20Guides/IMR%20At-a-Glance.pdf?ver=5QB8Tr_R4s9ecnnmUfHVnA%3d%3d) This new guide explains your mandatory readiness tasks, how to submit the paperwork to us to update your records, and different options available to you if you aren’t near an MTF.
A SUBSTITUTION FOR THOSE NEEDING AN IN-PERSON MILITARY DENTAL EXAM THIS YEAR
We have GREAT NEWS for those of you who require an in-person military dental exam IMR (required every 3 years). This waiver memo (https://www.arpc.afrc.af.mil/Portals/4/Memo%20for%20SGD%20COVID-19%20-%20IMA%20support%2016%20Nov%2020.pdf) allows a DD Form 2813 from a civilian dentist to substitute for a military dental exam through the end of this FY. Please check your IMR (https://asimsimr.health.mil/imr/MyIMR.aspx). If the system shows you need an in-person military dental exam, please work to accomplish it, especially if you’re already red! If you can’t get to a military dental clinic, you can have your civilian dentist fill out the DD Form 2813 and submit that instead.
