RIO Buzz Vol 42
The much-awaited transition to myFSS from our current myPers platform is coming up. We have some news to share now, but make sure you are seeing all the messaging from HQ RIO in the future as more information, training, and guides will be forthcoming. Now, the Buzz …
HOT REMINDER TO CHECK YOUR CAC
From November 2019 to March 2020, CACs were issued with certificate expiration dates that do not match the printed expiration date. This issue originated with DoD PKI certificate issuance infrastructure operated by DISA. There were more than 200k members affected by this. They have been receiving emails in their .mil accounts, but it’s possible you’re affected and don’t know.
If you’re unsure if you’re affected, log into the DEERS/RAPIDS appointment website (ID Card Office Online (osd.mil)), find the number for your nearest CAC issuance office, and give them a call. If you need a new CAC, make an appointment online (if possible) and get your new CAC by 23 November to avoid a loss in digital connectivity to military websites and systems.
GO-LIVE DATES ON MYFSS
Two functions are slated to begin in myFSS beginning 21 Nov 2022 – submitting inquiries to HQ RIO and inquiries to your detachments. The myPers links for these functions will be deactivated 20 Nov 2022. In addition, IR travel and medical submissions are tentatively scheduled to go live on myFSS on 12 Dec 2022, with the MyPers submissions tentatively scheduled to deactivate soon after.
Soon we will also see the pay and orders functions transition to myFSS, but the dates are TBD right now.
For now, it’s crucial that you ensure you can log in to myFSS successfully so you’re ready when the transition hits.
NEED YOUR ACTION: ACCESS THE MYFSS PLATFORM!
If you haven’t yet, you need to login to myFSS through the Air Force Portal under Career & Training (or using this LINK) using Microsoft Edge or Google Chrome. Select the Command Access Card (CAC) Login icon to begin the login process. The platform will automatically create your account upon the first login, please note: it may take up to 24hrs to build your profile. If you see your name displayed on the landing page upon login, your account/profile is active.
TIME FOR YOUR FLU SHOT
It’s that time of year again. All reservists must get a flu shot and provide that documentation to their AC MTF or HQ RIO Medical. Right now, unless already completed, members are showing YELLOW on this portion of their myIMR. On Dec 15, that turns red. You can receive a flu shot at any MTF, or at most doctor’s offices and drug stores. The IMR Quick Guide HERE will give you more information.
NEW QUICK GUIDE FOR AT/IDTS IN CONJUNCTION
We are excited to debut our newest quick guide for doing annual tour and IDTs in conjunction. You can view the new guide HERE. If you are in a career field that isn’t on the Critical Skills AFSC IDT Travel list, but need to travel to your duty location, doing your AT and IDTs back-to-back can be a good way for you to perform your FY duty and have your travel covered.
