Happy New Year!  Here’s to 2023 being a great year for all of us, personally and professionally.  Now, the Buzz …

NEW MEDICAL AND TRAVEL REQUESTS IN MYPERS WILL BE REDIRECTED TO myFSS

As of Dec 2022, all travel reimbursement requests for HQ RIO must be submitted via myFSS.  These sections are still receiving submissions sent in via MyPers, either through the “email us” function, or sent in to another still-active MyPers process.  Be aware that these new medical and travel MyPers tickets will receive a reply regarding myFSS submission policy and closed.  To avoid this happening to you, please use myFSS for ALL HQ RIO medical and travel submissions.

CLARITY ON HERTZ CAR RENTAL DOCUMENTATION

Previously, a Rental Record received from Hertz had been accepted as a valid receipt and used for voucher processing.  However, Hertz recently began including a statement at the bottom of the Rental Record stating, "Statement of Charges - Not Valid for Rental."  This statement now precludes the Rental Record from passing audit as a valid receipt.

In order to provide a valid receipt, travelers can access the Hertz link below to pull receipts by name, driver's license number, and/or credit card. We recommend that if filing for Hertz rental car reimbursement, travelers use the link below to acquire their receipt and upload/attach to their voucher for processing: https://www.hertz.com/rentacar/receipts/listReceipts.do

PARENTAL LEAVE FOR RESERVISTS GUIDANCE COMING SOON

HQ AFRC is currently evaluating the new maternity/paternity leave policy and proper process to document a member's duty status in UTAPs to ensure the policy intent is met, while protecting our members. Further guidance is pending.  We will follow up as soon as more information is received.

SGLI CHANGES COMING

The law which governs SGLI was recently changed to increase the max coverage for servicemembers from $400k to $500k.  This change will take effect 1 March for all members, even those with previously reduced or declined coverage. You can go into MilConnect after 1 March to reduce or decline the coverage.  You can read more about this HERE.
