RIO Buzz Vol 60
We are heading into the holiday season. The holidays can be a time for celebration but they also can be difficult for some. I ask that each and every one of you take a second to ask “one extra question” of your friends and coworkers. This can be as simple as “you say you are OK, but is everything actually OK?” This one extra question may open someone up to a conversation and provide them an opportunity to open up.
Thanks for everything that you do. Here’s hoping you and yours have a great one! Now, the Buzz:
THE NEXT vIRO IS WED THROUGH FRIDAY
A three-day virtual orientation for IMAs and PIRR members will be held 6-8 Dec 2023 beginning each day at 0800 MST. In the past, this three-day set of briefings is made available only to those who have joined the IMA component within the last year. However, some who have been IMAs and PIRR longer than that still wish to attend these presentations. We have opened the vIRO up to more people to attend if they’d like to sit in. Click HERE for more information and links.
ANOTHER REMINDER FOR FLU SHOTS
It’s that time of year again. All reservists must get a flu shot and provide that documentation to their AC MTF or HQ RIO Medical. Right now, unless already completed, members are showing YELLOW on this portion of their myIMR. On Dec 15, that turns red. You can receive a flu shot at any MTF, or at most doctor’s offices and drug stores. The IMR Quick Guide HERE will give you more information.
NEW PCS VOUCHER QUICK GUIDE NOW AVAILABLE
We’ve added another new quick guide to the HQ RIO Portal to assist you. The much anticipated and now updated PCS Voucher Quick Guide is now available!
DTS Q&A CAFÉ EACH THURSDAY AT 1100 MST
We hope you’ve taken advantage of the recorded training and quick guides on the HQ RIO Portal. If after watching the training and checking out the guides you still have questions, join our weekly HQ RIO DTS Q&A Café held every Thursday at 1100 MST/1300 EST. HQ RIO and detachment staff members will be there to assist you. We are working to dispel this idea that “you are alone.” This forum is designed to help with your “eaches” and may provide you with answers to your difficult questions.
Very respectfully,
Col Nathan “N8” Day
HQ RIO Commander
