This will be the final Buzz for 2023 as we wind down (we hope!) through the Holidays and gear up for a productive 2024.  Whether you are with family or out on an adventure on your own, we here at HQ RIO wish you all the best for the close of this year and many happy returns in the next!  Now, the Buzz:

NEW HQ RIO SEL ANNOUNCED
The Chief’s Group made it official today, CMSgt Jofred Aviles has been selected as HQ RIO’s Senior Enlisted Leader. He was chosen from a group of highly qualified candidates and we want to thank all those that interviewed as well as the hiring panel. We look forward to his leadership, mentorship, and his motivation. He is a highly dedicated Airman and we expect him to continue the tradition of excellence here at RIO. We look forward to his introduction article and learning more about his professional and personal life. Welcome to the RIO Team, Chief!

NEW GUIDE FOR myFSS HELPFUL TIPS
Many of us are still getting the hang of myFSS.  Check out our new quick guide with info on navigating myFSS, how to update tickets, and more!  You can find it HERE.

vIRO SLIDES ARE AVAILABLE NOW ON THE HQ RIO WEBSITE
Thanks to all of you who tuned in to our most recent virtual IR Orientation.  The slides for these three days of briefings are now available HERE on the HQ RIO Portal.  There will be three more vIROs in 2024, with the next one scheduled for 27-29 Feb.  If you’ve joined the IMA program in the last 18 months, you may be eligible for RPA to cover your attendance.  Those eligible to attend in a paid status will be emailed via myFSS 90 days prior to the event.  If you think you may be eligible and didn’t get the notification, send an email to the vIRO team at RIO.Readiness.Training@us.af.milHowever, you do not have to be in status to attend. So drop in to hear the latest information or hone your IMA skills.

CHIEF OF THE AIR FORCE RESERVES LT GEN HEALY PUBLISHES TIPS FOR BRIEFING LEADERSHIP
If there’s a chance you’ll be briefing leaders in either your military or civilian job (or anyone for that matter), this new “Healy’s Helpful Hints” for briefing is a fantastic resource.  Feel free to share with your active component team mates as well!

READY AIRMAN TRAINING INFO NOW ON THE HQ RIO PORTAL
The latest information on Ready Airman Training is now available HERE.  It includes specific information to assist IMAs is staying ready.  Be sure to share it with your active component Unit Deployment Manager in case he or she has questions about how this affects IMAs.

NEW INFO ON SPOUSE CERTIFICATION AND LICENSURES
Did you know there was a FOR FAMILIES page on the HQ RIO Portal?  It’s filled with information that could be helpful to your spouses and dependents.  We’ve recently added information about the new help available for spouse certification and licensure fees.
