RIO Buzz (Vol 62)

The RIO Buzz                                                                                             Vol 63

We still have a few months to go, but remember that your current FY Annual Tour orders must be submitted in myFSS no later than 31 May.  Mark your calendar, so you don’t forget!  Now, the Buzz:

MAKE SURE YOUR GTC AND EFT INFO ARE CORRECT IN DTS

DFAS is reporting a high number of Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) returns due to incorrect bank routing information. An EFT return prevents a traveler from receiving a travel reimbursement.  All Defense Travel System (DTS) users should review their DTS profile to ensure their EFT information has the correct routing and account number for their checking/savings account. This action will help prevent delays in receiving travel reimbursements. For instructions on updating EFT information, click HERE

AROWS-R TO BECOME 100% CAC ONLY

Due to a recent DoD mandate, all AROWS-R users are now required to have a CAC in order to access the site. If you do not have a CAC-enabled device, it will require you to have a CAC reader. Once you have accessed the site, you can log on as normal. However we highly recommend you bind your CAC in AROWS-R to avoid any accessibility issues in the future. If users have any issues, please contact the helpdesk as normal.

Most of you have already “bound” your CAC to your AROWS-R account already, but there are a few that have maintained the username/password access.  That’s going away.  If you don’t have a CAC reader, contact your URC or your detachment.  They can assist you with getting one.

ARPC EXPERIENCING DELAYS IN RETIREMENT PROCESSING

HQ ARPC Retirements is currently experiencing a delay in processing retirement applications due to the various challenges that arose from digital transformation. You SHOULD NOT re-apply in myFSS if you already applied in MyPers. ARPC is diligently working to manually migrate all retirement applications submitted as “work in progress” in MyPers prior to the transition to myFSS. ARPC Retirements is processing application submitted in MyPers with a retirement effective date of late September and those submitted in myFSS with a retirement effective date of mid-October. For applications submitted AFTER the retirement effective date, our goal is to process it within 60 days of receipt. A delay in the processing of a retirement application could adversely affect members’ benefits and entitlements and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Also, with the myFSS application for retirements, the first coordination after the member initiates is the Retention Office Manager/Talent Management Consultant. Unfortunately, there is not a Talent Management Consultant role in myFSS, so instead IRs will need to input the name of the HQ RIO TMC, MSgt Russell Clayton-Cornell.  (Note that myFSS and hyphens don’t mix, so search “Russell Clayton Cornell or use his email: russell.clayton_cornell.1@us.af.mil.)

FLU SHOTS ARE PAST DUE – GETS YOURS NOW

All IRs are required to get a flu shot each year by 15 Dec.  The paperwork needs to be submitted to your servicing MTF or the HQ RIO medical team so the system is updated.  Now is a good time to double check your myIMR to see if you’re paperwork was processed.  If you’ve not submitted paperwork or haven’t done your flu shot yet, you’re RED on readiness, which will affect your ability to go on orders.  Get your flu shot ASAP and submit to HQ RIO Medical on myFSS (click the myIMA tile to find the correct submission queue).

v/r,

Col Nathan “N8” Day
HQ RIO Commander
