MANTORY: NEW TASKORD FROM LT GEN HEALY TO ACKNOWLEDGE

When Lt Gen Healy became the CAFR a year ago, he published a TASKORD that all reservists had to acknowledge clearly defining every Reservist’s responsibility in making the AFR ready now. He has just pushed out an updated TASKORD and is directing all Reservists to acknowledge this important document. If you haven’t yet done so, go to this PAGE of the HQ RIO website to read the TASKORD and fill out the questionnaire to document your acknowledgement. This must be accomplished by 11 Sept 2023.

IRS MUST HAVE APPROVED ORDERS OR VOCO TO REPORT FOR DUTY

Verbal Orders of Commanding Officer (VOCO) Memorandum for Record (MFR) documents should be the exception and not the norm for IMA personnel beginning orders. Per the DAFI, VOCO are issued only by exception and are not used to circumvent core administrative processes. If you do not have approved orders or a signed VOCO MFR prior to the start date of your requested duty, DO NOT report for duty. If you are unsure about this, please contact your servicing RIO/Detachment SEL.

MEMBERS TRAVELING TO CHINA, PLEASE READ

Since 2015, the Peoples Republic of China has passed or updated wide-ranging laws on national security, cybersecurity and data privacy. Specifically, in 2023, the PRC updated their counter-espionage law which expanded the definition of espionage to include any documents, data, materials or items related to national security interests, without defining terms. These changes increase the risk of AFRC Airmen, especially those with civilian careers requiring travel to China, being subjected to arbitrary enforcement of local laws, including exit bans and the risk of wrongful detentions.

Additional information on travel advisories can be obtained from the Department of State International Travel Advisory website and awareness material from the National Counterintelligence and Security Center website, www.ncsc.gov.
