RIO Super Buzz Vol 55
Col Dixie Duke, IMA to the HQ RIO CC, is the acting HQ RIO CC for the next few weeks. We are excited to announce that Col Nathan Day has been selected as the new HQ RIO CC and will assume command at the end of September. Now, the Buzz:
MANDATORY: IF YOU HAVEN’T YET, ACKNOWLEDGE THE NEW TASKORD
When Lt Gen Healy became the CAFR a year ago, he published a TASKORD all reservists had to acknowledge clearly defining every Reservist’s responsibilities in making the AFR ready now. He has an updated TASKORD and is directing all Reservists to acknowledge this important document. If you haven’t yet done so, go to this PAGE of the HQ RIO website to read the TASKORD and fill out the questionnaire to document your acknowledgement. This must be accomplished ASAP!
OUTSTANDING TRAVEL VOUCHER? FILE IT ASAP
As the FY winds down, it’s imperative that any outstanding travel vouchers are paid out as soon as possible. If you have a travel voucher from an already completed set of orders, you need to get it routing in DTS or RTS (whichever method is listed on the back of your orders) no later than 20 Sept. Remember, per the JTR, you are required to file your travel voucher within five business days of the completion of your trip.
CLARIFICATION ABOUT NON-PAID, NON-TRAVEL AT
In the last RIO Buzz, one option for completing AT was listed as no-pay, no travel – basically a “points only” Annual Tour. This option is only for our PIRR members. We are sorry for any confusion!
vPC SUNSETTING SOON – LEGACY EVALS DUE PRIOR
If you have a legacy eval (a prior year eval that is being worked in vPC), please ensure it is in “Work in Progress” status in vPC no later than 15 Nov 2023. If it isn’t, you’ll need to complete a gap report instead.
COVID RELIEF
There is one final round of COVID Relief for points being accepted now, with a suspense of 30 Sept 2023. Information on how to apply can be found HERE.
ROUTING RETIREMENTS
If you are routing a retirement package in myFSS, please be aware that it’s not role-based like it was in myPers. The system says to route to the “RIO CC”; however, it goes to your Detachment CC instead. Please chose the appropriate Detachment Commander by name.
DTS TRAINING
The transition to DTS is coming soon. To prepare IRs for this change HQ RIO will be offering training specific to how IRs will use DTS beginning 1 Oct. All the information about this change and the schedule for upcoming training sessions can be found HERE. Please be sure to mark this on your calendar since the transition means several changes from our current travel voucher procedures.
UNHANDLED FAULT IS BACK
HQ ARPC is aware of an "unhandled fault" error that is affecting the myFSS platform, primarily in the myEval, myRetirements, and AFR Aviation Bonus (AvB) applications. Our team is working diligently and utilizing all available resources to resolve this issue and restore full system functionality. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
There is a proposed workaround if you receive the fault when submitting an orders request. When you go through the orders request process, upload something, even a blank document, when given the opportunity to upload. This seems to push past the unhandled fault and allow the orders request to go through. In the interim, AvB customers can contact the HQ RIO Talent Management Consultant to submit applications. For all other non-HQ RIO actions, please contact the TFSC or your detachment.
v/r,
Col Dixie “Jinx” Duke
Acting HQ RIO Commander
