Commissioning

RIO Non-EAD Airman Commissioning Program

The Non-EAD (Extended Active Duty) Airman Commissioning Program is designed to commission the highest qualified enlisted Airmen to fill valid non-line and line officer unit vacancies. Airmen who have obtained a qualifying college degree and are 40 years of age or younger may pursue an Air Force Reserve commission. To ensure quality candidates are being nominated for the IMA Non-EAD ACP, a board interview process is in effect.

This board process allows the Det commanders and Det SELs an opportunity to collaborate with the Active Duty hiring authority to evaluate applicants and their packages to ensure the member is the best fit for the AD position and the IMA program, as a whole.

The Board will consist of three voting members: Detachment commander, Detachment superintendent, and the Active Duty hiring authority or any officer of any status.

The HQ RIO Group SEL is the board president and will schedule interviews.

The Interview Evaluation Sheet must be included with the package when submitted.  Please contact your detachment for more information or to apply.

COMPLETING THE NON-EAD ACP APPLICATION IS TIME CONSUMING! DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE. PLEASE GET WITH YOUR SUPERVISOR/MENTOR TO HELP YOU COMPLETE IT BEFORE THE DEADLINE.
