Decorations

The Air Force decorations and awards programs are a beneficial way to acknowledge significant or outstanding accomplishments of an individual. In addition to recognizing achievements or key contributions of merit, decorations and awards can weigh in promotion scoring, force development vectoring, and school or assignment selection opportunities.

For IRs, decoration nominations will follow requirements as listed in the AFI. The member may not submit on their own behalf. For questions or missing decorations, please contact the assigned unit CSS/J1 or servicing MPF. In the event of a missing decoration required for an upcoming officer promotion board, the IR can contact ARPC/PB for assistance.

Information regarding eligibility, nomination and signatory requirements and more, can be found in AFI 36-2803 Military Decorations and Awards Program.

Members can review their decoration record via vMPF and view their official record via Personnel Records Display Application (PRDA): My Apps Dashboard | Air Force
